How to Prepare Nai (Ghee) Appam - 8 Steps

Nai (ghee) appam the ever loving sweetest snack of keralates.Never thing that all that is delicious are difficult to make but if you go through how Nai appam is made surely you will feel to try it in your home.


Let’s see what are the ingredients needed for Nai appam.
  1. Raw Rice
  2. Jaggery
  3. Cardamom
  4. Jeera or cumin seed
  5. Sesame seed or Til
  6. Coconut oil or sunflower Oil

Steps Involved:

1. Raw rice is grinded finely.



2. Use the strainer for making the flour nicer.

3. In between you may boil jaggery  in a small amount of water to make it into liquid form.



4. Take a pan, mix jaggery and raw rice flour.



5. Add powdered cardamom,jeera (cumin seed)and Sesame seed(Til) into the mix.
6. Using Hand or mixer mix it well and wait for 15 mins.



7. Using china pot boil the coconut oil or sunflower oil.
8. If the oil is boiled, using ladle you may pour the flour mixer to the oil in small amount.




Thus the delicious Nai Appam is ready now, you may wait for few minutes since you won’t be able to eat hot Nai appam.
